Suitsathon 2.0

  • WHAT, WHAT ACTUALLY IS THIS?

The idea originally belongs to the TSN (The Social Network and can be found here), the SUITS-A-THON is, for all intents and purposes, the same thing. The only difference? This fan-a-thon is for our favorite new television series, Suits. 

  • WHO IS INVOLVED?

Everyone in the entire fandom. The SUITS-A-THON will, in addition to doing a lot of rejoicing, spread the fandom. Everyone interested will be put into teams. Team captains will have captain-y duties such as motivating the team and keeping track of points.

  • WHAT DO THE FANS DO?

The THON is a one-week event in which the teams race to the top as the team who contributes the most fan content. Content may include fic, videos, graphics, gifs, songs, anything. Get creative! Points will be awarded according to the quality, quantity, and type of content.

  • WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING?

The SUITS-A-THON will take place from June 10th to June 22nd (subject to change). Why so far away? Because of the incipient nature of the show and the therefore rather small fandom, it won’t hurt to open the teams earlier. This, of course, also means that everyone has plenty of time to prepare!

  • HOW CAN I JOIN?

Well, all you have to do is visit the team roster conveniently linked here and check out who’s on which team! Then, head over to the ask box and submit the top 3 teams you wish to be a part of. Afterwards, check back on the team roster to see which team you’ve been added to. Be prepared to wait a while because of the number of people who need to be sorted.

More information will be added later, but for now we’re just looking for team captains. so don’t worry about signing up or anything yet, everyone will get a chance to do that later! (:

As for neveroddo, they haven’t sent in an ask requesting to be a team leader yet (if they intend to at all) and their blog doesn’t allow for the viewing of tags. After going through 80+ pages on my dash to attempt to view said tags without success, I will now await their ask instead…

Tumblr, here endeth the Suits-A-Thon

Get it? ‘Diver, taketh me to Williamsburg.’ No? Okay.

Today is the official end of the Suits-A-Thon, and I would just like to say thank you, thank you so, so much for participating and having so much fun! It was amazing to go through the submissions and marvel at everyone’s work - especially the artwork! The way the Suits fandom is able to pull together like this with not even one season aired is absolutely astounding. Seriously, the Suitors are possibly the only fandom I’ve been a part of that was just so accepting of every single opinion, every single ship, every single view. I had absolutely no problems with anyone being rude to me, other Suitors, or other pairings. 

I understand that yes - not everything was perfect, some submissions got lost and had to be resubmitted, and things got a bit hectic. And I’d like to thank everyone for being so understanding and nice about everything, so thank you. I mean it.

The only possible regret was not submitting so much myself - it took so much time and energy for me to sort through everything and get it organized. You can probably tell that the organization of the thon slowly deteriorated as the week went on, and I apologize for that. (This isn’t an excuse by any means, just a reason: I had tennis tryouts all week - and they’re still not over, Jesus - and I was basically in a constant state of exhaustion.) For the disorganization, I apologize. Like. Seriously. I’m so sorry. It pains me to even look at all the extra tags, the little notes that weren’t supposed to be published, the random titles. It physically pains me.

The teams have just been so great through this. Everyone got the concept that this is for fun and not just to win; it’s to bring the fandom together in one week of nothing-but-Suits. I thank everyone for being such good sports. Without further ado, here are the team standings:

  1. Team Jessica, with 52,900 points
  2. Team Mike, with 31,500 points
  3. Team Donna, with 24,250 points
  4. Team Rachel, with 17,400 points
  5. Team Louis, with 17,200 points
  6. Team Harvey, with 16,800 points

    Phew! Now I can officially say it: Suits-A-Thon ‘11 is over. Let’s do this again sometime, shall we?

    School starts for me in three days, and from now until Wednesday the 24th, I have a book to read, a project to do, and countless notes to take. But I’m not even worried, because I can honestly say that the Thon has made my entire summer.
